The importance of the skipper

The skipper, who must be over 18, is a designated member of your party who also takes responsibility for reading the Induction Manual (attached to the Booking Confirmation email) and receive any training on the day. You are responsible for general safety and for ensuring that the boat is returned on time, in a clean and tidy condition by 4.30pm or before dark in the winter months.

While out on the water, you are also responsible for ensuring that the speed limit is adhered to at all times and that your party behaves respectfully towards other waterways users.

The skipper signs the Acceptance Certificate before leaving Union Wharf, to say that you are happy to take responsibility for the safe return of the boat and passengers.
