Daily checks and diesel

Daily checks

Before you begin your holiday, we will complete a range of maintenance checks on the boat. In addition to this we ask that you:

  • Check that all ropes are safely coiled on the decks ready for use.
  • At the end of a daily cruise, turn the Grease Gland clockwise until it becomes stiff, to enable the correct operation of the propeller shaft. It is located on or under the rear deck (we will show you where during your handover.) Please note that if your booking is for Woodland Grayling or Marbled White, this operation is automatic so you don’t need to locate and turn the Grease Gland.

Warning lights

If any warning lights come on on the control panel on the back deck, please moor up and let us know by calling one of the numbers in the front of your manual (on board.)

Fuel

The boat runs on diesel. You should not need to fill the diesel tank unless your journey is very long (more than two weeks.) In this instance, you can fill up at a fuel supplier en route – usually a marina or wharf. Tie up alongside the pump and an operative will refuel. The filler cap is located near the tiller on the back deck. The boat can be fuelled from either side.
